I have purchased several steam accounts in the past from places like epicnpc and other forums and as long as you're buying from a very reputable seller you shouldn't need to worry. It's probably better you just make your own but then it does take a while and you won't get things like the old service medal, badges and whatever. 'safe' sure, but then again it depends what you mean by that. I had a very complicated issue with my main account not too long ago and it crossed my mind that if I were to lose it one day, this could be a viable option to get a replacement with the same overall characteristics. Assuming you buy one of those, the whole transaction goes fine and you immediately change the account email to an email you own, wouldn't it still be possible for the previous owner to just open a support ticket with Steam, send proof of the purchases (or similar) and get the account back in a few days with little effort? Are there any security measures that would guarantee that you'll never have problems with the account after you buy it? Sorry if the question is silly - I do understand that buying and selling accounts is against Steam's TOS, but there seems to be a big market around that successfully doing it for years and I'd like to get a better idea of what are the risks involved if I ever decide to purchase a Steam account from a third party. It recently came to my attention that many websites / people have interesting Steam accounts for sale (14 year old accounts, have many games or items, wide variety of badges, combination of all those things, etc). ![]()
